Shop at Shopo

Oooh new online design store in town and one that looks extermly promising , so naturally I had to check it out and share my thoughts on it. Well this babe is called Shopo  and “it’s a marketplace for everything with an Indian heart” .

Starting with the basics, the faces behind Shopo are Krithika Nelson and Theyagarajan S and hundreds of craftsmen and artisans. The unique thing about shopo is it’s like a set of multiple store with each having separate rules and the product ranges from jewelry to books and home accessories and wallets and home furnishing.

Now about my experience on this site, what I really liked was the home page, its so bright and inviting and every thing is laid out so well. The category listing is exhaustive, so you can get to what you want real quick (separate category for Skirt , Pjyama for kids , Belt etc ) and also by the design brands( chumbak, Kya cheez hai etc)

Eco Friendly Paper Bag for Rs. 30 - I like when things costs less than my morning coffee (yeah, i m kinda cheap that way) and it does hurt when it is so beautiful and also good to nature

Since I am on a look out for nice lampshades I checked that out first I got 7 options , not a lot but could do with it good part price is listed right on top again makes it easy to decide.
Next up Cushion covers coz you never can have enough of those right ?? And this is where the range is impressive and almost in all price points ( I definitely like this).when you click on the thing you want to buy it takes you to the page with all the details like Size specs ,  type of material , who is the seller and how long it would take to deliver etc and even recommends something similar if you want to have a look. Important point the shipping charges are over and above the cost. Since I didn’t actually buy anything from the site as yet not sure whether they deliver outside india or not ..guess you’lll have to check that out yourselves.

this is how you use your old records, convert them in piece of art and utility all for RS. 450

And yes, before I wrap up , the site has a “Sell” segment as well, in case you own a product line or would like to own one , you could tie up with Shopo , some details are listed on the site and rest I guess you need to contact them.

Very colorful and very interestin bag for Rs. 380

All in all very happy with what I saw, look of site is inviting, collection is impressive and seemed easy to navigate ..def high on my recommendation list. Do check out the site here and also you could check out their FB page or follow on twitter for more updates

You had me at hello...

......or some sentiments very similar to that, when i saw this month's edition of Prismma. I wrote about this magazine first edition a while ago and since then this one has gone from strength to strength.
I love the cover for this edition, i am going through a vintage, classic phase right now and that surely makes me lust for the green bench/chair on the cover. Infact there is so many things to love, 280 pages of total inspiration and beauty.
That Green bench on cover comes from house of  Gaurav and Simple owners of very famous turquoise cottage. If i ever own a house i would surely be very inspired by their deign aesthetics so these pages are going in my design inspiration file.

Then there is a very informative article on Bathroom design and some very practical tips to keep in mind while designing your bathroom. And an interview of Rajat Tuli of "happily married" since i am a huge fan of Happily unmarried quirky designs , its a pleasure reading the brand journey.Kudos to the editorial team for their effort, you can see there is lot of sweat and labour gone into this magazine.

One special note to who so ever designed the layout very very user friendly, navigating the pages is a breeze. There are different layout options and search function to make things smooth for you.

Do check out this magazine ..there are 280 pages no advert for now so there is tons of information to enjoy and get inspired.

Shop Stop - Moha

I visited this store last year fell in love in first instant. Couldn't write earlier about this coz i had forgotten its name and misplaced the card somewhere. Finally had a chance to revisit it this wednesday and now getting a chance to write about it.
Moha is one of the many lifestyle stores in Rajiv Gandhi Handicraft Bhavan (opp hanuman mandir in C.P.) and stands out as one having the best collection for your entire home. Their range of products include paintings,  furnitures, Pottery, Sculptures, aromatherapy etc.

As you enter, a blue wall on the left draws you, color and decor of this wall is so tempting that you would surely like to convert of your house wall like this. Collection is eclectic and staff very friendly , they leave you to browse the store and are there should you need any help.

I am in love with each and every item in the store and given a chance and money :) would pick up everything. Some of the furniture has very vintage look and it reminded me of furniture at my ancestral home , not sure if they are actually vintage or designed to look like that but would tug your heart nonetheless

Do check out their website www.mohaindia.com , surely would tempt you to have a look in the store The collection is simply awesome, although on a expensive side.

For people in delhi ,  this store is a must visit , you would definitely pick up something.

Sofa ..So good

While browsing my fav website BLTD I instantly fell in love with this beautiful piece of furniture, and if I could seriously afford it (at $3500 , its slightly beyond my budget :) ), would have ordered right away.

looking at it brought back memories from my growing up days. Most of my “sleeping time” at my parents place have been in living room on the couch , I remember when I would get back home for holidays during my college days, living room couch was the fav place, watching TV, reading books late in night  and ultimately falling asleep, till the time ma would come and wake me up and some how I would reach my bed at night and then would be back in sofa in early morning for my second round of sleep ( 7 am till whatever time I could manage without being physically pushed over by sis and  ma) …I am sure my sleeping on those couch was the single reason for why we had to change so many sofas (at that time I blamed the transportation company which would handle our furniture during dad’s frequent transfer) …ahhhh..those  days …

so here is collection of some of the sofas available in the market, like is said before I prefer the clean simple lines and some sort of “sleepability” in my couch ..what’s your choice

From Durian, they have range in leather , leatherite and Fabric

This sectional from the urban decor..reminds me of the all white sectional which my sis has in her house (in her effort to be minimalistic)  and is covered with thick sheets most of the time for the fear of being touched with a haldi stanied hand :)

and this one from design store reminds of sofa at  home

and for a regal touch the silver sofa from rajasthan ....

I like these contemprorary styles ...

Artist - Mukul Goyal

I came across work of Mukul Goyal recently and am so very impressed by his collection that I had to share this with you all.

His websites says “His inspirations are drawn from everyday life and his designs are a blend of traditional materials with contemporary expression, uncomplicated yet exuberant - a simple story but always told with a twist!”

Most of stuff I saw was either made of stainless steel or brass and trust me his each of his piece are masterwork and definitely collectible item

Lunchtime salt and pepper shakers

How cute is the explanation-  Lost in a post lunch reverie, salt and pepper add spice to the table by their engaging relationship .
